Job Description

The Drywall Director will serve as the senior leader responsible for the planning, execution, and management of drywall operations across multiple projects. This role requires a strong balance of strategic leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on field oversight. The Drywall Director will collaborate closely with project teams, clients, and trade partners to ensure successful delivery while driving efficiency, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the drywall division, including project managers, field supervisors, and crews.
• Oversee all phases of drywall construction on commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, budgets, and performance goals.
• Monitor project progress, schedules, and financial performance to ensure profitability.
• Establish and enforce quality control and safety standards.
• Build and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships.
• Provide mentorship, training, and professional development for division staff.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on business development and market growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or related field required.
• Maters degree in Business Administration preferred.
• 10+ years of drywall/construction management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record overseeing drywall operations on large-scale commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of drywall systems, installation methods, and industry best practices.
• Advanced knowledge of the construction industry and specific client market required.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and large teams effectively.
• Availability and ability to travel.

Typical Physical Needs

Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. May need to climb stairs, ladders and/or scaffolding and lift up to 30 lbs.
