Job Description

*** This is a REMOTE contract role and you must have . We are seeking someone LOCAL to the Brentwood/ Greater Nashville area. There will be one day of training in our corporate office in Brentwood, TN on your first day.

SUMMARY:

The Medical Recruiter partners with the Regional HR, Health Services Team and Health Services Administrators throughout respective facilities across the company and plays a key role in filling the medical vacancies throughout CoreCivic. Works closely with facility leadership to monitor recruitment-related issues and develop recruitment plans to meet the hiring goals of the individual medical departments. Works closely with Health Services leadership in refining screening/credentialing process for RN's, LPN's, Psychologists and other medical/mental health staff. Works in partnership with Human Resources to assess hiring cycle processes and ensures consistency in the application of those processes as needed to satisfy OFCCP requirements. Provides feedback of program and process implementation and needs to develop a healthy and qualified applicant pool for all medical related positions. Has direct involvement with implementing and monitoring cost effective recruitment programs for each facility. Sources candidates through a variety of methods, including attending medical specialty conferences, professional networking and cold-calling to promote CoreCivic as an employer of choice. Primary liaison with local community and university partnerships for positions in the medical field.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements.

  1. Monitors medical vacancy rates, and develops and implements recruitment strategies to minimize vacancy fines and improve fill rates.
  2. Utilizes creative sourcing strategies to identify and engage passive qualified candidates for nurse, substance use treatment and mental health positions.
  3. In partnership with Regional Health Services and local HR, develops recruitment plans for medical positions, with a concentration on hard to fill medical positions. Follows-up and assists with selection and hire process, to include new acquisitions, as necessary.
  4. Monitors facility applicant flow and recruitment-related issues. Ensures proper candidate licensure reviews are being conducted to validate licensure and board requirements.
  5. Provides resources and partners with Regional Health Services and facility Human Resources to develop and maintain critical community contacts with colleges and universities in the medical field.
  6. Develops relationships with various professional organizations in the medical field in order to capture opportunities to promote CoreCivic as an employer of choice for medical careers and encourage recruitment.
  7. Ensures compliance with state and federal laws governing selection and hiring for all medical positions.
  8. Domestic U.S. travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree (required) in Human Resource Management, Nursing, Business or a related field is preferred.
  • Three years of recruiting experience with one year of medical or specialty recruiting experience is required.
  • Additional recruiting experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local licensing/certifications for nurses, mental health and/or substance use treatment is required.
  • Must be able to interact with physicians, nurse practitioners and regional nursing directors at a strategic level.
  • Experience with various recruiting methods, including the internet, direct sourcing, networking/referrals, and other cost effective sources is required.
  • Experience with an HRIS and ATS is preferred.
  • Must be extremely organized, attentive to detail, and able to multi-task while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Travel is required. A valid driver's license is required.
