Description:

Our client is currently seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager in Castleton-on-Hudson. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Responsibilities Include:

• Manage all environmental health and safety programs, ensuring a mindful, zero-incident environment.
• Conduction of site inspections and risk analyses.
• Analyze potential job hazards.
• Ensure corrective actions and investigations of incidents.
• Management of environmental metrics
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including EPA and OSHA.
• Oversight of chemical management.
• Ensure employees and contractors are thoroughly trained.
• Oversee all procedures involving hazardous waste.
• Oversee Department of Transportation compliance programs in relation to commercial vehicle operations.
• Develop safety data sheets.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, environmental science, or a related field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in environmental health and safety is required.
• Must be knowledgeable in relation to the regulations of various agencies, including DOT (FMCSA), EPA, and OSHA.
• Must be familiar with fleet management tools and Department of Transportation driver compliance systems.
• Must have a history of safety auditing, risk assessments, and inspections.
• It is preferred that a candidate has a certification in fields relating to EHS.
