Job Title: Electrical Engineer – (Pharmaceutical)

Location: Waltham, MA

Experience Level: 5–10 Years

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, coordination, and implementation of low voltage systems across a range of pharmaceutical projects. This role will focus on systems including Fire Alarm, Security (CCTV, access control), IT infrastructure, Audio/Visual (AV), and Building Automation Systems. The ideal candidate has a strong background in pharmaceutical environments and excels in multidisciplinary project coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or support the design and installation of low voltage systems in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical facilities.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and system integrators to ensure proper installation and commissioning of all relevant systems.
  • Prepare or review electrical design drawings, specifications, and installation details for LV systems including IT, Fire Alarm, AV, and Security.
  • Oversee and support field activities such as inspections, testing, and system commissioning.
  • Ensure project compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and client requirements (e.g., NEC, NFPA, cGMP, FDA).
  • Provide technical input during planning, procurement, installation, and qualification phases.
  • Work closely with other disciplines (MEP, CQV, automation, IT) to ensure systems are fully integrated and aligned with operational requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in electrical design and construction support, with a focus on low voltage systems.
  • Proven experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences environments (GMP/GxP experience required).
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, etc.).
  • Experience with system commissioning and qualification processes preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure (structured cabling, data rooms), AV system design, and physical security systems.
  • Strong project coordination and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM coordination platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
